CM Balochistan Addressed Transport Protestors
Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Balochistan’s Chief Minister, has vowed unwavering support from security forces stationed at checkposts to combat both human trafficking and terrorism. Bugti conveyed this message during discussions with protesting transporters on Saturday.
He convened a meeting with a delegation representing transporters to address their legitimate concerns. Against the backdrop of ongoing anti-trafficking operations and heightened security measures, the Chief Minister assured transporters that their issues would receive prompt attention.
Underlining the paramount importance of maintaining law and order, Chief Minister Bugti reiterated the government’s commitment to ongoing anti-trafficking efforts aimed at curbing illegal activities. He emphasized that while protests are constitutionally permissible, the blockade of highways is illegal, and strict actions will be taken to prevent such disruptions that inconvenience the public.
Bugti underscored the crucial role of joint check posts in ensuring security along transit routes. He reaffirmed their continued operation, with clear instructions to relevant authorities to minimize delays for passenger buses.
In a bid to enhance passenger safety, the Chief Minister directed the deployment of one security officer per passenger vehicle. This measure seeks to bolster security and ensure the safety of commuters traveling across the region.
Wrapping up the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti reassured transporters of the government’s dedication to addressing their grievances while maintaining law and order. With an unwavering commitment to the safety and security of all citizens, the government remains steadfast in its efforts to uphold peace and stability in Balochistan.
