Youm-e-Takbeer Quetta, Balochistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared a public holiday on May 28 (Tuesday) to commemorate Youm-e-Takbeer, the day when Pakistan’s defense became impregnable following the nuclear tests conducted in the hills of Chagai, Balochistan.
Youm-e-Takbeer reminds the Pakistani nation of unity to make the defense of the country invincible, the prime minister said in a statement issued by the PM House on Monday.

In the capital city of Quetta, three major rallies were organized to commemorate the historic day. These rallies converged at Serena Chowk at 11 AM. The rally from Sariab was led by Provincial Minister Ali Madad Jattak, while the Nawankilli rally was headed by Provincial Minister Bakht Kakar. The third rally from Airport Road was organized by civil society and social organizations.
Participants in the rallies waved national flags and chanted slogans of ‘Nara-e-Takbeer.’ The rally from Sariab, led by Minister Jattak, and the one from Nawankilli, led by Minister Kakar, demonstrated strong patriotic fervor. The civil society and social organizations’ rally from Airport Road carried banners and placards proclaiming “Pakistan’s defense is invincible.”
At Serena Chowk, where the rallies converged, participants paid tribute to the nation’s scientists and the Pakistan Armed Forces for their contributions to making the country’s defense impenetrable. The speakers emphasized that the successful nuclear tests conducted 26 years ago in the Chagai district of Balochistan were a declaration of Pakistan’s unassailable defense capabilities.
Similar rallies and celebrations were held in other divisions of the province, including Rakhshan, Makran, Naseerabad, Sibi, Loralai, Kalat, and Zhob. Various social, political, and religious organizations, along with civil society groups, actively participated in these events, further highlighting the unity and patriotic spirit among the people of Balochistan.
